Our Weekend

To start things off, McKenna had a short day on Friday due to an injury at school.  I was 30min away, at our church building, helping with decorations for the ward party when I received a phone call. It was McKenna's teacher on the other line letting me know that McKenna and another student collided heads in PE.  Unfortunately McKenna got the worse of the collision as she ended up with a black eye. It's school policy for head injuries to be sent home, so I picked her up.  She is doing just fine. It was hurting her a little, but no dizziness or headache.  We put some ice on it then she was eager to be outside while we waited for Bryson to come home off the bus.  It was 70 degrees out so the kids had a great time riding their bikes and enjoying the nice weather! By the way, McKenna has recently lost her 8th tooth! She now has 6 missing.

On Saturday, our family received a letter in the mail from the North Pole. We opened it up in fear that Santa was informing us that he wasn't coming for Christmas, but we were thankfully wrong! He is coming, but he informed us that he is doing some things a little different this year.  He mentioned that instead of us waking up and seeing that he has come with all our presents in place, we will find one present from him with a note.  He wants us spend this week thinking of a service we can do for someone else to help bring the true spirit of Christmas to their home on Christmas morning.  As we discussed this as a family, we came up with a pretty clever idea.  We decided that we would pray about a family and give them a box inside another box gift.  The last box will have a tree ornament of the nativity and the boxes leading up to it will have scriptures or a verse related to the night of Jesus birth.  I love how excited and accepting the kids are about this idea!
