of CHRISTmas
This time we opened the Shepherd, with the scripture of Luke 2: 15-16.
"And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger."
Our activity is Shepherds Night lesson from Christ Centered Christmas blog.
We ate a Shepherd's meal of potatoes, carrots, and beef, (aka football stew) served with some delicious home-made bread.
Then we gathered in the living room to pretend we were the Shepherd's that night the angel came to tell them the news of the baby Jesus. We felt the spirit so strongly as we acted this out and tried to imagine what it would be like. Even Bryson mentioned how warm his heart felt inside and we made sure he understood that it was the spirit testifying the truth of these things. It was a wonderful experience!
