Christmas day has arrived and the kids were excited! Bryson was the first to wake, at 7:30am. We found him sitting in the living room on the couch, reading Christmas books while he waited for others to get up. We started things off with finishing our 12 days of CHRISTmas by pulling out baby Jesus and reading the scripture Mathew 1:21. Then our activity was to share a gift we want to give Jesus. Next, we noticed that Santa didn't leave us empty handed and went ahead and opened what was there.
A note was attached to this picture saying how grateful Santa was for Bryson and McKenna to take part in being willing to postpone their Christmas and help bring the spirit of Christmas to someone else. At the end of the letter were coordinates that we needed to plug into our GPS for directions on how to locate the gifts Santa left.
While breakfast was being made, Bryson and McKenna were allowed to separate their gifts and open all the gifts that came from Utah families, which they loved! Here's a few of the pictures.
They received pictures for their rooms, a patriot plaque, games to play, and church clothes.
Then the rest of the gifts were then loaded into the car because we knew we were going to the Hall's after we found our Santa gifts, to share some Christmas with them.
Breakfast was served 'North Pole' style. It was delicious! We even had some grits as snow, which is our favorite.
Once breakfast was all cleaned up we headed out to deliver our special gift. We left it on the family's porch and were on our way. Bryson and McKenna were in complete control of the GPS and guiding us to know where to turn and when. We ended up all the way to Grandpa and Grandma Hall's house, where the kids were determined to believe that the gifts must be outside somewhere because the GPS signal wasn't directly on their house. We decided to at least go in and say Hi to them before we continued our search. But when Grandma came to the door she informed us that there were some gifts left at her house that had our names all over them. The kids were ecstatic!
The kids certainly didn't go without anything for Christmas. In fact, they were overloaded with so much!
Santa brought both a lamp and a nightstand for them to put together. Kenna also got some new shoes she needed and Bryson received a Diary of a Wimpy Kid card game.
Bryson and McKenna also gave a gift to each other. They were allowed $1 to spend on each other and Bryson received a magic set from Kenna and Kenna received an artificial flower from Bryson.
Grandpa & Grandma Curtis sent a gift as well, which the kids loved.
Grandpa & Grandma Hall gave each of the kids books to go with these pocket pillows that Grandma Hall made for them.
Kenna's is a mouse and Bryson's is an owl
We gave Bryson a coat and new white shirt for church. And McKenna got my old ipod shuffle that we loaded with songs she enjoys.
Here are the kids in their new Christmas attire, Bryson in his new shirt and tie
and McKenna in her new dress. They looked fabulous! I can't believe how grown up they look too.
Here are the nightstands they put together, completed and in their rooms.
Thank you all for helping to give Bryson and McKenna a wonderful Christmas!
