Last night was a big night for these two! They had their test for receive their orange belt. They were both pumped and ready, and excited. Then we got there and Kenna realized she left her white belt on the floor where she was getting her shoes on. Oops. With no time to go back for it we told her not to worry and that by the end of the night she would have a new one anyway. She was great about it for the first part. They started out with their oath.
Then it was time for the formation test. Both of them did a really good job as you can see from the video. From there they did some stranger danger practice. This is where Kenna lost it. I think she realized she was the only one without her belt and the instructor was calling them out by belt color. She felt embarrassed and didn't want to participate for the remaining of the program. We all tried to coax her and help her be okay about it, one of the instructors even gave her a white belt to wear just to try to get her to feel better. But she was flowing in tears and felt embarrassed about that now.
Bryson received his Orange belt. And Kenna watched. I then asked her if she wanted to get her belt, at which she said she did but wouldn't go up when they called her name. She told me she was too shy. So the instructor allowed for me to go up with her to receive it. I know she didn't like being up there, but she is very glad to get her belt!

Bryson also got the Top Gun award, which is that he tried his hardest every time he came to class and had a good attitude, and achieved his goals each week. They also had to preform well and sit like a black belt during the ceremony. I know Kenna would've gotten one too, but because she didn't want to participate anymore through the ceremony, she wasn't able to get it. Next time. I am so proud of both of them! They worked real hard to get their belts and do a fantastic job!
