Fishers
Bryson and McKenna are awesome at fishing!
We took the kids camping up at Helen and they had the opportunity to show off some of their fishing skills. McKenna was all about getting those worms to bait the hooks, and Bryson was a pro at casting his own line. No one caught anything, BUT Bryson got a really good bite on his hook! That fish was a fighter and was trying to pull Bryson into the water instead of let Bryson pull it out. Bryson did great! We did need to go and assist him with trying to reel that sucker in, but it ended up breaking his line and got away. That was the extent of the little bit of fishing.

Flu Bug
Thursday evening is when it hit, Bryson caught the flu. The poor guy has been sick ever since. McKenna also caught it on Friday evening, but was better by Sunday and well enough to go back to school today. Bryson's never had the flu for this long before and it's sure taking it out of him. He's so weak, not his normal cheerful self, feeling crappy, and can't keep the food down that he thinks he can enjoy. We were getting hopeful today as he hadn't thrown up since Sunday afternoon. Even at the dinner table we were discussing him going back to school tomorrow. Perhaps the word 'school' brings it on because out his dinner came. The fact that he IS improving, leaves us with no concerns. His flu is just lasting longer than McKenna's did. However, I know Bryson would LOVE to get back to being himself again and have energy to do all that he longs to do....with that said, we know the power of prayers and with your help Bryson can get better in no time! An early THANKS to all of Bryson's family and friends for keeping him in your prayers.
Back to School
He walked her everyday until she told him she was ready to do it all by herself.
They both seem to really like their teachers this year...Bryson with Mrs Hainline and McKenna with Mrs Jackson. They are both excellent teachers (comments from other mothers).
Bryson ended up with three of his neighborhood friends in his class this year- Jeremy, Andre, & Emiliano. Plus he said a few more friends that he knew from 1st grade and Kindergarten are also in his class. This made him very happy!
McKenna however was rather disappointed after her first day of school because (in her words) Poor me, I don't have any friends in my class. Not one person do I know, but Bryson is the lucky one because he has friends and I'm not lucky.
Sad first days for Ms McKenna. She is doing much better now as she comes home and tells me about her new friends she plays with. It's going to be an adjustment for her, but she'll get through it.
